This Thursday is Lesson #8 “MORAL”!
This week as we move on to Principle 4, we will begin the process of “coming clean.” We chip away and clean out all the decay of the past that has built up over time and has kept us from seeing the real truth about situations and circumstances. When we don’t feel we are living in a manner that is pleasing to God or that is appropriate for us, we can get overcome with guilt, and we tend to allow it to have more power and control in our lives than we ought to.
As we work through Prinicple 4, we will learn that God uses something similar to guilt to correct us through His Spirit when we are wrong, and it is then called conviction. We need not beat ourselves up over past sins, but instead we are to allow God’s conviction to lead us to confess those things to Him and trust Him to forgive us and help us move past them. Join us this week as we learn to tell the difference between our self-imposed guilt and God’s loving and helpful condemnation. In the meantime, fully rely on Jesus to give you the strength this principle requires.
“There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ.” Romans 8:1
“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for I, the Lord your God, am with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
