Testimony – Chad

How great when those who have gone before us are willing to invest in others by sharing what they have learned along their journey of recovery. So many times God touches our lives through the lives of others. Come this Thursday night and allow God to encourage and strengthen you through Chad as he shares his recovery journey with us. Below is a glimpse at how God brought Chad through one of the darkest times in his life. God can restore hope and peace in spite of our circumstances. Praise God that He has used those of us at CR to bring this about!

It was the hardest time in my life. I was faced with the reality that I was failing at marriage. My kids were suffering greatly and I felt so alone and hopeless. I spent lonely nights trying to reason what had happened and counseled with friends that had all kinds of advice to give…mostly the bad kind. One friend that I had met in a bible study, kept inviting me to check out a recovery group at his church. I must have said no a half a dozen times. After all it was my wife that needed fixing, I was fine. But there was something about the persistence of this guy. He had just been through the death of his child…and was going through a divorce, yet somehow he was maintaining and even seemed to have peace. It was so unusual to me, but also made me curious. I kept pondering, “How did he still have hope?

Hebrews 6:19  “We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain.”
