Testimony – DERRICK
This week, we have the wonderful privilege of hearing from our Director of Celebrate Recovery, Derrick. He has been involved in Celebrate Recovery at South Tampa Fellowship for many years now and just last March, he took on the role of Director. Join us as we hear from Derrick about what drew him to Celebrate Recovery and what has kept him involved through the years. Here is a brief preview of Derrick’s story:
“When I returned from Vietnam, I was broken physically and emotionally. I had lost over 30 pounds. Men and women returning from combat now are often diagnosed with PTSD. I am certain that I would have met the criteria, but there was no help available. I was struggling to adjust and out of desperation, I started attending church. God began to work in my heart regarding salvation. I was so confused and struggling with the issue of how God could forgive me when I was ‘so bad.’ I read Romans 10:13 – ‘For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’ I held on to this promise and slowly God began to bring about radical change in me.”
