This Thursday is Edward’s Testimony!

“In 2012 I was sitting in a church parking lot, were I tried to commit suicide by taking some pills.  I was filled with guilt, shame, low self-esteem,resentment, anger ,depression, sadness, I felt hopeless. God intervened, he helped me to get the help I truly needed, one way was I attended a place called The Ranch.  Where I began my recovery work, a Christian based recovery program.  I was able to work on all my issues form my past, I was given tools to help deal with my past abuse, and I had counseling, I was a part of large groups and small groups.  I did activities that helped build my self-worth; to find forgiveness for myself, and the people that have hurt me. I became closer to God during this time….

After six weeks at the Ranch I came home a new person, I had to do 90 meetings in 90 days.  This is were I started attending CR, & I got involved right away. I did a step study, I started to read my Bible more, learned to open up about my feelings, I started feeling better about myself. I was able to forgive my abusers, & make amends to all the people I had hurt.  During the last five years with CR, I have become a leader, I have learned to trust, to tell my story, do the lessons, & start a small group for men who have been abused.  My relationship with my mom has been rebuilt after 40 years with not talking to her.  My marriage is better than ever with my wife Amy, & my relationship with my kids has improved.

Today I live my life one day at a time, I do not want to harm myself, over come my depression.  I am a follower of Christ and have surrendered my life to God.  CR saved me and gave me a second chance at life.”

Come hear more about how Edward went from feeling hopeless to experiencing God’s grace & love & having a second chance at life.
