Testimony – Kathy

How great when those who have gone before us are willing to invest in others by sharing what they have learned along their journey of recovery. So many times God touches our lives through the lives of others. Come this Thursday night and allow God to encourage and strengthen you through Kathy’s testimony. Below is a glimpse at how God has worked in Kathy’s life.  When we stop taking responsibility for others and learn to set healthy boundaries, we can experience a sense of freedom that perhaps was not present before.  Praise God that He has used those of us at CR to bring this about!

“For a codependent, learning to set boundaries is a crucial part of recovery.  While working Steps 6 and 7, I began to set boundaries for myself to be free from my insanity (you know…doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results).  I started feeling a freedom that I had never before because I wasn’t taking the responsibility of making everyone’s life happy and trouble-free. I started learning the difference between true guilt of disobeying God and false guilt of allowing someone’s opinion, comments, judgments or behavior to make me feel unworthy.”

Romans 15:13

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”
