Testimony – CAROLINA
This week, we will be encouraged by the powerful testimony of Carolina. Here is a preview of what she will be sharing with us:
“At the time, I felt unloved, forgotten, and abandoned by God. I had come to a crossroad in my life where I could either believe the Bible and all its promises or walk away from it- there wasn’t room for a middle ground anymore. A principle that helped me, which I had learned at CR, was that during difficult times in my life, I would have to trust God’s word, despite my emotions. I continued to pray and read the Bible, even on the days when everything in me didn’t want to. Purely by God’s grace, I did not turn to alcohol, medicine, or any addiction to make it through our season of mourning.
God’s love and presence did not leave us, but quite the opposite, it was even closer during this dark time than it had ever been before. Steve and I grew in our relationship with the Lord, learning things about Him in the darkness we could’ve never learned in the light. He molded and changed my heart in ways I never thought possible. Today, I mostly remember Andrew with gratitude, although I’m sure the pain will always be there in some form.”
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
Recovery Reminder
Principle 5: Voluntarily submit to every change God wants to make in my life and humbly ask Him to remove my character defects.
“Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires.” Matthew 5:6
Step 6: We were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.” James 4:10
