NAIL IT TO THE CROSS
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
This week we are coming together to recognize that there are burdens we carry with us that are simply not ours to bear. No matter how long we have born the weight of our burdens of anxiety, shame, fear, depression, etc., we will come together with one purpose—to hand our burdens over to the Lord, tangibly leaving our struggles at the feet of Jesus by nailing them to the cross. Come take part as we trade in our burdens, both new and old, for the peace that only Christ can provide.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27
Recovery Reminder
Principle 8: Yield myself to God to be used to bring this Good News to others, both by my example and by my words.
Step 12: Having had a spiritual experience as the result of these steps, we try to carry this message to others and to practice these principles in all our affairs.
“Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.” Galatians 6:1
