Testimony

The purpose of Celebrate Recovery is to encourage fellowship and to celebrate God’s healing power in our lives.  We share that experience through testimonies.  Join us as we hear a testimony of someone who is working through the principles, growing spiritually, & freed of life’s Hurts, Habits, & Hang ups. How powerful it is to hear from someone who believes in principle 8 (giving ourselves to God to bring the good news to others by our example and our words) and believe in it strongly enough to share not only in the safety of their small group but also among the whole recovery family. They believe in Jesus Christ enough to share their lives with others, sharing their weaknesses and strengths with others who are suffering from similar pain, hurts, hang-ups, and habits. They’ll give others a piece of their heart and not of their mind.

“Let us not give up the habit of meeting together, as some are doing. Instead, let us encourage one another all the more, since you see that the Day of the Lord is coming nearer.” Hebrews 10:25

Recovery Reminder

Principle 1: Realize I’m not God. I admit that I am powerless to control my tendency to do the wrong thing and that my life is unmanageable.

“Happy are those who are persecuted because they do what God requires.”  Matthew 5:3

Step 1: We admitted we were powerless over our addictions and compulsive behaviors, that our lives had become unmanageable.

“I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.” Romans 7:18

CR Ministry Needs

Celebration Place: A weekly or bi-weekly volunteer is needed to help teach in our elementary CR program. Please talk with Karen in the Children’s Department if you are interested in serving in this way.

Coffee House: A couple of volunteers are still needed to help break down and clean up after Coffeehouse on Thursday nights. We are also in need of help manning the CR information table at that time. To volunteer, please click the “contact us” link above or talk to Melissa T. at Ballast Point on a Thursday night.

Giving Back: To show our appreciation for all that STF has done to provide a great environment for us on Thursday nights, there are few things we can do. One way is helping out as a shuttle driver on Sunday mornings, bringing people to the church from the Ballast Point Elementary parking lot. To serve in this way, email us through the “contact us” link above or talk with Jon on Thursday.
