Testimonies
Join us this Thursday night as we hear three amazing stories of hope. We will hear from those who have chosen to stop living in a pattern of denial and instead have committed themselves to pursuing Biblical recovery. Come to offer your support and be encouraged as they share about their faith and God’s faithfulness. Below is a brief excerpt from one testimony we will hear:
“For me, it felt like I was flying a plane without controls. I thought I was headed up but I was actually headed directly down. I was seconds away from a crash when I feel God moved in my life and saved me from complete destruction. I used alcohol and antidepressants to numb myself in order to disable my feelings. Once I understood my world of denial actually denied me of a fulfilling life, I began to take steps in admitting my struggles and my powerlessness over them.” Jenny
“For me stepping out of denial has come in stages or steps…for me those we often baby steps – small and erratic. For a longtime I could not see where I was really at because I was trying to control things, fix them myself because that is what I was a make it happen military guy. Despite many warnings and issues I could not bring myself to admit it until I crashed…literally. The crash opened my eyes that I needed something and could not keep doing what I was doing which led me to CR.” Rick
“Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; our God is merciful. The Lord preserves the simple; when I was brought low, He saved me. Return, O my soul, to your rest; for the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.” Psalm 116:5-7
Recovery Reminder
Principle 2: Earnestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him, and that He has the power to help me recover.
“Happy are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4
Step 2: We came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
“For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose.” Philippians 2:13

Upcoming CR Social Events
CR Ministry Needs
Celebration Place: A weekly or bi-weekly volunteer is needed to help teach in our elementary CR program. Please talk with Karen in the Children’s Department if you are interested in serving in this way.
Coffee House: A couple of volunteers are still needed to help break down and clean up after Coffeehouse on Thursday nights. We are also in need of help manning the CR information table at that time. To volunteer, please click the “Contact Us” link above or talk to Melissa T. at Ballast Point on a Thursday night.
Giving Back: To show our appreciation for all that STF has done to provide a great environment for us on Thursday nights, there are few things we can do. One way is helping out as a shuttle driver on Sunday mornings, bringing people to the church from the Ballast Point Elementary parking lot. To serve in this way, email us through the “Contact Us” link above or talk with Jon on Thursday.
