Testimony – JIM

It is such a blessing when those who have gone before us & navigated the winding road of recovery are willing to invest in others by sharing what they have learned & all that the Lord has done in their lives. Come this Thursday night & allow the Lord to encourage you & renew your hope through Jim as he shares some of his recovery journey with us. Below is just a brief glimpse at how the Lord has brought healing, humility, and hope to his life. Praise the Lord that He has used those of us at CR to bring this about!

“I had to accept responsibility for the actions that I had chosen through the years. When my sponsor had me talk about the things that I had done to support my very expensive habit, the people that my drug abuse had hurt and the people that I blamed for my failures at recovery, the Step 6 verse of James 4:10 proved to be right on. That verse is “Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.” As I moved through my inventory, the anger that had eaten at me for so long seemed to melt away. I’ve now been drug-free for 4 1/2 years with the help of God, my sponsor and accountability partners.”

“I am confident that the good works God has begun in me will be perfected.”  Philippians 1:5

Recovery Reminder

Principle 2: Earnestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him, and that He has the power to help me recover.

“Happy are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4

Step 2: We came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

“For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to His good purpose.” Philippians 2:13
