Lesson #24: YES

“Arouse the love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and a genuine faith.”

1 Timothy 1:5

Have you ever noticed how people will take your example far more seriously than your advice? This is why it’s so important for our walk to match our talk. If we want others to see what Christ can and will do for them, then we must let them see what Christ has done for us. Our challenge at this point in our recovery is: what to do with our recovery story–keep it to ourselves or allow it to be an encouragement and a blessing to others? It’s far more difficult to give others a piece of our heart (or a glimpse into it) than it is to give them a piece of our mind. This week, join us as we discuss practical steps we can take going forward.

“And since I, the Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. I have given you an example to follow: do as I have done to you.” John 13:14-15

Recovery Reminder

Principle 8: Yield myself to God to be used to bring this Good News to others, both by my example and by my words.

“Happy are those who are persecuted because they do what God requires.” Matthew 5:10

Step 12: Having had a spiritual experience as the result of these steps, we try to carry this message to others and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

“Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.”  Galatians 6:1
