Testimony – JASON

This week we will hear a powerful testimony from Jason. Once consumed by a life of addiction, he is now pouring out his life for Christ, pointing others down the road to freedom over addiction. Jason and his wife Robin are founders of the nonprofit organization, the Adonai Foundation.  Their goal is to offer complete recovery care that places God and the values of His Word first, while equipping men and women with the tools to transition back into society with a new biblical foundation of the ethical and relational tools taught by Jesus Christ. They provide interventions, recovery care plans, placement services, addiction counseling, recovery coaching and management, and structured community living, based upon the individual’s needs. These programs are designed to assist the addicted individual in overcoming the addiction successfully, encourage participants in an environment of accountability, and equip them with life skills needed to transition back into a productive life within the community. Throughout the process, they also empower families with knowledge, support and tools to participate in the recovery of their loved one.

Here is an excerpt from Jason’s testimony:

“I lost everything – my business, family and friends. I had reached the bottom or so I thought. I would get better; then I would go on a binge. I found myself in Tampa General Hospital with my lungs bleeding from smoking crack. With my father, mother and brother standing over me, the doctor said that my heart had stopped a couple of times, and if I didn’t get help soon, this lifestyle was going to kill me. A man by the name of Joe W. called me; he said my mother had spoken to him, and he was available to talk. I took him up on this. He told me all sorts of information that day, but the thing I remember the most was that he told me I had a disease and I would die if I didn’t stop.”

Psalm 32: 4-5 –“My strength evaporated like water on a sunny day until I finally admitted all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide them.”

Recovery Reminder

Principle 8: Yield myself to God to be used to bring this Good News to others, both by my example and by my words.

Step 12: Having had a spiritual experience as the result of these steps, we try to carry this message to others and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

“Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.”  Galatians 6:1
