Testimony – JESS

This Thursday night, we will hear from Jess as she shares how the Lord has used difficult situations and shifts in circumstances to draw her closer to Himself. The Lord may choose to take us down roads we would prefer not to travel and deal with circumstances that we would rather avoid. But when He does, He is faithful to bring us through both times of trial and times of success with our very best interest always in mind. The following is an excerpt from Jess’ story.

“I was in a dating relationship during the Step Study in 2008 that ended. With the ending of that relationship, God helped me face the reality of some of my character defects. I came to realize that in that relationship, I was too afraid to face truths in front of me in order to hold on to the relationship. I did not voice my concerns. I wasn’t always honest. I did not deal with conflict but instead allowed my mind to swirl into codependent spins. I got into counseling, which I remained in for a about a year. Here I gained a large amount of healing from many things. I began to address my history of abuse, my lack of self-esteem, and some of my other character defects.”

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”  John 16 : 33
