Testimony – Anonymous

How great when those who have gone before us are willing to invest in others by sharing what they have learned along their journey of recovery. So many times God touches our lives through the lives of others. Come this Thursday night and allow God to encourage and strengthen you through a testimony of lasting change and freedom. Below is a glimpse at how God worked in the life of one of His children. God can restore hope and peace in spite of our circumstances. Praise God that He has used those of us at CR to bring this about!

Pushing past the dark, experiencing the life of Christ. This week a woman tells her freedom story of her heart made new and her marriage made right. Here is an excerpt from what you will hear Thursday night:

Up until this breaking point, I had thought that I could make it through my step study by just going through the motions and reciting the answers that I knew would get me by. But after experiencing this new ‘rock bottom,’ I realized that something needed to change. Surface-level relationships and vague answers were not going to bring me inner peace. I needed a lasting change. I wanted a peace that I’d never had, so I knew I’d need to do something I’d never done: become emotionally transparent and put everything out on the table. I could see that the unhealed wounds of my past were harming everyone around me, including myself.

Isaiah 61:3 “To grant [consolation and joy] to those who mourn in Zion—to give them an ornament (a garland or diadem) of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment [expressive] of praise instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit—that they may be called oaks of righteousness [lofty, strong, and magnificent, distinguished for uprightness, justice, and right standing with God], the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.
