Testimony: CATIE
The following is an excerpt from Catie’s amazing testimony of God’s love and provision, as shown in her life. Join us Thursday night to hear the rest of her story.
“My name is Catie, a believer in Jesus Christ, celebrating recovery from codependency. As a child, I understood my need for a Savior and accepted Christ into my heart but I had no idea how to have a relationship with Jesus. Instead of seeking God with my whole heart, I pursued happiness in accomplishment, career, and relationships. I felt that if I found the perfect life partner, contentment would naturally follow.
When I married the man of my dreams, I was certain that the fairy tale would begin. The lack of connection between us for many years was baffling to me, and ultimately, I found myself in a very troubled relationship. Compounded by the loss of our deeply desired second child in my first trimester, I hit rock bottom.
I remember my simple prayer: ‘Lord, I am broken-hearted and I don’t know how to begin to have a relationship with you. Please God help me! I need the resources to save my marriage.’ God graciously brought me to Celebrate Recovery nine years ago. My sponsor, my counselor, and my step study sisters were lifelines God provided to help me recover. Through Celebrate Recovery, I received the greatest gift–a real relationship with my Savior and the deep, abiding knowledge that I am loved.”
“And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge–that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 3:17-19
Recovery Reminder
