Lesson #22: Gratitude

“Give thanks to the LORD for His unfailing love and wonderful deed for men.” Psalm 107:5

In recent weeks, we been discussing the importance of our daily inventories & spending daily time with God. Setting these two things as priorities helps to keep us from relapsing into our old ways.

Having recently celebrated Thanksgiving, it seems fitting that our topic of discussion this week is gratitude. There are four areas of our lives that we should seek to focus our gratitude: toward God, others, our recovery, and our church.

This week, we’ll discuss ways to look at our lives & assess what things, people, & circumstances we are most grateful for. By keeping that list of things (whether it be a mental list or an actual physical one) in mind, we are better able to keep our attitude right towards God & others. This keeps us in a good position to continue carrying out our recovery, day by day. See you on Thursday!

“As for us, we have this large crowd of witnesses around us. So then, let us rid ourselves of everything tha tgets in the way, and the sin which holds on to us so tightly, and let us run with determination the race that lies before us.”  Hebrews 12:1

Recovery Reminder

Principle 7: Reserve daily time with God for self-examination, Bible reading, & prayer in order to know God and His will for my life & to gain the power to follow His will.

Step 11: Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and power to carry that out.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.”  Colossians 3:16
