Lesson #22 – GRATITUDE

This week, as we approach Thanksgiving, our challenge is to turn the focus of our prayers toward gratitude in four areas of our lives: toward God, others, our recovery, and our church. We can work our way through that list, asking ourselves, “What am I thankful to God for? What am I thankful to my family for?” and so on. Whatever our answers to those questions are determine what we should then thank God for.

When we reflect on these questions, we can reflect on the last year or we can focus on what God has done for us just this past week or even today. Take a few moments this week to take stock of all that you have to be grateful for, asking the Lord to help and reveal more and more things to you.

“Give thanks to the Lord for His unfailing love and wonderful deeds for men.”  Psalm 107:15

Recovery Reminder

Principle 7: Reserve a daily time with God for self-examination, Bible reading, and prayer in order to know God and His will for my life and to gain the power to follow His will.

Step 11: Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and power to carry that out.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.”   Colossians 3:16
