This Thursday Pastor JJ is teaching Lesson #23 – GIVE
This week, we move forward to Principle 8 (below), where we put our faith into action. It is through our actions that we demonstrate to God and others the commitment we have to our faith in Jesus Christ. An aspect of living out our faith is giving back to others. We are never more like God than when we give–not just of our money or our things, but with our very selves. This can take many forms, and we can look to the Bible for examples of what God expects from us when it comes to giving.
In scripture, we are taught to give of our time, lend others our ear, share their burdens, and above all, share with them God’s love and the joy we have in Him and because of Him. During the Christmas season this year, ask God to reveal to you ways in which you might give to those around you.
“Give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the merciful Father, the God from whom all help comes! He helps us in all our troubles, so that we are able to help others who have all kinds of troubles, using the same help that we ourselves have received from God.” Corinthians 1:3
Recovery Reminder
Principle 8: Yield myself to God to be used to bring this Good News to others, both by my example and by my words. “Happy are those who are persecuted because they do what God requires.” Matthew 5:10
Step 12: Having had a spiritual experience as the result of these steps, we try to carry this message to others and to practice these principles in all our affairs. “Brothers, if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should restore him gently. But watch yourself, or you also may be tempted.” Galatians 6:1

Historically we have entertained ourselves with a white elephant gift exchange. And while it’s fun, we thought changing the focus to giving back might be more rewarding and memorable. So this year we are going to make sweet holiday treats for those that need a little cheer this year.
WHAT TO BRING: Since you won’t be spending $10 on a gift for the exchange, we are asking that you considering bringing a donation to help cover the cost of the mason jar cookies.
We are looking forward to a wonderful night of fellowship. Please RSVP to Kendall at kendall.myette@gmail.com with the total number of people coming with you, by Monday December 4th so have enough food!!
