Testimony: RON
This week, we are grateful that Ron will be sharing a bit about his journey from brokenness to wholeness with us. Here is a brief preview of his story.
After leaving rehab on Tuesday, I remember being in a favorite bar Wednesday drinking a soda with a friend and getting the conviction to leave within a half hour. The next day, a Thursday, I went to my first AA meeting. I have learned since then, if you hang out in a barber shop, sooner or later, you are going to get a haircut. I never went to a bar to drink a soda again! After 3 months or so, I was feeling good but was uneasy. I had this emptiness. No more expanded energy to go here or there and do this or that, no longer experiencing the sensation of a run that goes along with alcohol and drug addition. That’s when another police officer invited me to church with him and his wife. I had never had a beer with him, barely knew him – I know God used him as a trumpet call for me. It wasn’t the denomination or the building, it was an answered call to a relationship with God through Christ Jesus, my Savior, and I said, “YES!”
1 John 4:4 “Greater is He that is in me, than he that is in the World.”
Recovery Reminder
Principle 7: Reserve a daily time with God for self-examination, Bible reading, and prayer in order to know God and His will for my life and to gain the power to follow His will.”
Step 10: We continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.
“So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!” 1 Corinthians 10:12
