Men’s Coin Ceremony
It is amazing the bonds we form when we share experiences with other people. When we are going through a situation, whether good or bad, it is so valuable to have people in your life that will walk through it and share that experience with you. Particularly when it is a difficult situation that you’re facing, it is equally valuable and important to also seek the wisdom of those that have gone before you and already faced that same or a similar experience. Because they have walked in your shoes, they are able to provide counsel and encouragement to you in very specific and meaningful ways that others simply could not manage.
Join us this week as we hear from some of our Celebrate Recovery participants. Our hope is that their stories and the victories God has given them will serve as great encouragement to you as you navigate your road to recovery.
“So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised.” – Hebrews 10:35-36
Recovery Reminder
Principle 6: Evaluate all my relationships. Offer forgiveness to those who have hurt me and make amends for harm I’ve done to others, except when to do so would harm them or others.
“Happy are the merciful.” Matthew 5:7
“Happy are the peacemakers.” Matthew 5:9
Step 9: We made direct amends to such people whenever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
“Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.” Matthew 5:23-24
